Top Christian Hip-Hop/Rap Songs

Many people still think Christian hip-hop/rap is not for real. Sure it is for real. That’s why I decided to come up with this list of some of best Christian hip-hop/rap songs. Well, we all have our different tastes when it comes to music, but at least you should take a listen to these songs. It took me quite some time to put these songs together, so there has to be at least one or two you will enjoy. Let’s go!

1. NF - Let You Down
Since NF admits that they are his life experiences that inspire his music, one can easily tell that this song is about the complicated relationship he has had with his parents.

2. Chris Howland ft. CASS & Sajan Nauriyal - Way Up
In "Way Up", we are reminded
of the fact that our help comes from God, and we do not just have to be thankful but celebrate what he has done in out lives.

3. Lecrae ft. Breyan Isaac – River of Jordan
This song has a powerful message. Lecrae tells how none of us is perfect and we need to drop our guard of self-righteousness that we all have up. Great piece of art.

4. Sho Baraka – We Can Be More
First time I heard this song it arose that tingling sensation in my tummy. Sho Baraka explains what relationships are from Biblical perspective; one thing the masses need ;)

5. Lecrae ft. Tori Kelly – I’ll Find You
This one also comes with a very inspiring message. Lecrae goes further to explain precious life is; a gift we often take for granted and only realise it when it is threatened. He writes. “Pain can be a haunting reminder to appreciate every waking moment.”

6. NF – Remember This
NF, one of the best lyricists when it comes to keeping it “Real” as he often says it. This song is packed with lines that will leave you thinking for a minute or two. Everything he says in this song is real, and I respect him because he says it.

7. Steven Malcolm - Never Let You Go feat. Blanca
Again, the beat is outstanding, and the vocals from Blanca perfectly spice up the song.

8. Lecrae ft. Big K.R.I.T & Ashthon Jones – Mayday
Mayday talks about Christian hypocrisy and also adds up some solutions to such problems. The rap is well blended with the beat. The vocals by Ashthon Jones is just insane, you don’t wanna miss that part, believe me.

9. 116 Clique – Man Up Anthem
This song’s definition of “being a man” opposes that of today’s society. It calls on all men to man up and take responsibility for their decisions. I particularly love these lines; “being a man ain’t got nothing to do with age, you could be a boy till the day you lay in your grave/… It don’t matter how you started, partner, it’s about how you end”.

10. Lecrae – Don’t Waste Your Life
Sometimes, your mood determines the kind of music you want to listen to. When you just wanna shout out and make some noise hip hop style like you just don't care, this is just the song, plus you might want to pay attention to the lyrics; you might gain a thing or two.

11. NF – Therapy Session
This song just tells us how powerful music can be. “We’ve never met but I swear you know who I am”, from this line you can tell that there is some strong bond between NF and his fans. A lot of what he says in his songs is real, real life experiences, that explains why he shares this bond with his fans and always seems to be telling one’s story.

12. Trip Lee – Robot
This song talks about how we are born “robots”; products of the system. This makes a lot of sense as the masses are controlled by what they see on the media and latest trends… you get the point. Trip Lee tells us in this song to be free from our robot ways and think for ourselves. When you meet a table of lies, you are not supposed to just eat there because it’s where they feed you!!!

13. NF – Got You On My Mind
Here, NF talks about a relationship he had with a girl. He went further to tweet; “GOT YOU ON MY MIND relationships are important, trust is important, love is important. Find the person you can have those things with.”

14. Tedashii ft Andy Mineo & KB - Envy
Crazy beats and even crazier rap. This one is about the envy we often have for others around us; feeling superior and better, comparing oneself with others, wanting all the glory to oneself, which we all have to let go.

15. Da T.R.U.T.H – J.I.F.E
JIFE, Jesus Is For Everybody, the song title says a lot about the song already. This is one of my favourite Da T.R.U.T.H songs. Quite often people get judged because of the belief in Christ, and the church too seems to be failing in playing its role; that, the song talks about.

16. Lecrae ft. Chinua Hawk – New Reality
This beautiful song talks about how Jesus chooses us and died for us despite our imperfections. “Did I mention that he forgave you/ And had his flesh ripped off for the sin you was enslaved to/…. But I love you even when your light’s off in your dark shame/… I still want you back, I won’t punish you/ I took that on the cross because I wanted you.”
How wonderful.

17. Call Me Ace - Napalm
The beat alone is enough to make anyone "go off". The rap reminds me of Busta Rhymes, who is popularly known for his fast rap.

18. Sevin – Come Home
I love this song particularly for its message where he talks about repentance, and how Jesus still accepts us despite our imperfections. In the song he says; “Come as you are, you could wear your errors in/ Same clothes you get buried in we get married in”. Of course, no one is perfect.

19. Matthew Parker – We Go
I love this one particularly for the crazy beat. The lyrics too has its part: He says how he's out to spread the word, with no time to waste and no one to be left out.

20. Dwayne Tryumf - I Don't Pack A Matic
This is a song that encourages us that God is our source and He has given us all we need to do what we were called here to do. The "banging" nature of the song is particularly outstanding.

21. NF ft. Tommee Profitt and Brooke Griffith – Alone
This one starts with the opening lines “To be honest/ I feel completely alone/ Like nobody knows me/ Nobody understands me/ and he goes further to explain that. He also mentions the fact that Jesus is the only one who truly, and if you don’t give everything to Him, “you’ll watch it burn”.

22. Trip Lee ft. Dimitri McDowell & Leah – Sweet Victory
Sweet Victory! No matter what we go through in life, we will always have victory in Jesus Christ, no matter the hardship, disease or whatever circumstance. It doesn't matter how you started, or where you are at now, but how you end it.

23. Lecrae - Cry For You ft. Taylor Hill
Unlike the other songs, this song isn't "banging" yet very thrilling. The chorus could easily stare up some emotions when you listen; the lyrics too. The melody too is awesome.

24. Flame feat. Lecrae – Joyful Noise
Rhymes well put together, beat well made, awesome message.

25. R Swift – Awesome God
This one mostly goes further to tell how awesome our God is; guess the title says it all 😊

26. NF feat. Jonathan Thulin – Lost in the Moment
This is one of those songs that can easily leave you "lost in the moment" 😁. Jonathan Thulin completely pours his heart into this one and NF, in his usual lyrical style, gives us something to reflect on.

27. Trip Lee feat. Andy Mineo – Insomniac
Trip Lee and Andy Mineo rocked this one out. They talk about making the most out of your present rather than sleeping on it, no one knows what tomorrow holds.

28. Andy Mineo – You Can’t Stop Me
In this one Andy Mineo talks about how nothing anyone does can keep us from living for Christ, despite the numerous voices criticizing and judging.

29. KB feat Lecrae – Sideways
This is one of those songs with crazy beats. KB talks about how people look at him “sideways” because of his beliefs.

30. Aha Gazelle - Twentylemhunnidmillion"
Twentylemhunnidmillion" is the number of time Aha Gazelle failed but never gave up. Goes further to tell you the truth about this life. I particularly like this one for the lyrics.

 31. Steven Malcolm - Six Four
Another great track from Steven Malcolm

There are just too many great Christian hip-hop/rap songs out there. If you know any that you think should be on the list, please don't hesitate to add it in the comments section. Thanks for reading
